Het Broodcafé – Grote Markt Almere (vh Steps)
Op de hoek Stadhuisstraat-Grote markt in het stadshart van Almere was voorheen de winkel van Steps gehuisvest. Deze winkel, geheel georiënteerd op de arcade in de Stadhuisstraat had een blinde Trespa gevel aan de Grote Markt. Het beleid van de gemeente Almere om op de Grote Markt serres/ uitbouwen voor Horeca toe te staan is vertaald als een uitbreiding van de bestaande begane grond. De serre staat niet slechts op de Grote Markt maar loopt als luifel door tot in de arcade en vormt zo een nieuwe “groot stedelijke” hoek.
Aan de kant van de Portiersteeg is de vluchttrap van de boven gelegen woningen “onzichtbaar” opgenomen in de nieuwbouw.
Het Brood Cafe – Grote Markt Almere
The corner of Stadhuisstraat- Grote markt in the center of Almere was occupied by the fashion store Steps and completely oriented to the arcade in the Stadhuisstraat with a blind Trespa façade on the Grote Markt. The policy of the municipality of Almere to give an opportunity to subjoin extensions to the existing facades on the Grote Markt is translated as an extension of the existing ground floor. The conservatory is not only on the Grote Markt but runs like canopy through to the arcade to form a new “metropolitan” angle.
On the side of the Portiersteeg the flight of stairs, belonging to the rest of the block, is integrated “invisible” in the new building.
